Western Spirit Celebration 2011

Children and adults will be immersed in the western culture, art, and heritage of the largest migration of cattle in U.S. history.  The Western Spirit Celebration explores the substantial contribution of many multi-ethnic groups to the intriguing legends created from the impact of the Chisholm Trail on the economy, culture, and nature of the settlement of the West.

This year's Western Spirit Celebration promises to be the biggest and the best.  Mark your calendar now for September 16th,17th & 18th.  The annual event draws folks from Oklahoma, Texas, and Kansas.

A herd of longhorns flanked by cowboys will make their way onto the grounds of the Chisholm Trail Heritage Center.  This will kick-off this three day special event in Duncan, Oklahoma.

Friday Night - COWS Band (Church of the Western Swing) will be playing at 7:00 p.m. This is a free outdoor concert.  There will be delicious chuck wagon dinner consisting of BBQ brisket, pototoes, beans, bread, and cobbler.  Tickets to the chuck wagon feed are limited and may be purchased at the Chisholm Trail Heritage Center giftshop for $8 each.  Dinner will be served from 5pm - 6:30pm.
