Making History With the Arts

Enjoying "Making History with the Arts" Education Program

We invite your school’s 3rd, 4th and 5th graders to attend our award winning, "Making History with the Arts" Education Program.  The intensive 3 ½ hour instructional experience utilizes the entire Chisholm Trail Heritage Center where your  students are immersed in the world of the Old West.

Our program brings history to life with costumed historical figures who share stories in first person narrative. The students are captivated with the characters and usually say, “I didn’t know history could be this much fun”.

Awaiting the students in the Garis Gallery of the American West are the works of Frederic Remington, Charles Russell and many other famous western artists.  Students are inspired to transfer the knowledge they have gained by creating take-home art projects.

The
Music class presents a wide range of genres and sounds including Native American flute, drums, cowboy classics, and popular songs of the early 1900’s.

Up to 60 students can attend the Education Session with 30 students participating in Trail I and 30 students attending Trail II.

The cost of the program is only $4 per student.  Teachers and the bus driver are free - other adults attending are $5 per person.

You may email the following contact form with your interest or you may contact us at 580-252-6692.

Thank you for your interest in our program - we look forward to you and your students attending "Making History With the Arts" Education Program!
