2011-2012 Making History with the Arts Sessions

September 1 - November 4    Abernathy Boys:  Relive the adventures of Bud and Temple Abernathy.  Their sister tells her memories of her brothers' adventures.  Art project, Garis Gallery of the American West, Experience Theater, hands-on activities and more.

November 7 - December 16    Christmas on the Chisholm Trail:  How did the settlers on the Chisholm Trail celebrate Christmas?  Students will make salt dough ornaments with Molly Bugbee.  Art project, Garis Gallery of the American West, Experience Theater and more.

January 2 - March 9   Native Americans: Prairie Flower will be your guide during this session.  Art project, Bear Dance, Experience Theater and hands-on activities with bones and pelts.

March 19 - May 25   Oklahoma Land Giveaways:  Students participate in their own land run.  Kentucky Daisy tells her amazing story of claiming land in Oklahoma Territory.  Experience Theater, Art project and much more.
