Buffalo, grackles, black labs and bluebirds are just a few of the subjects that inspire Duncan artist, Mikel Davison. He incorporates the everyday ordinary, combined with the rich history of Oklahoma, into his artwork. Carving cigar store Indians from 100-year-old fallen trees, finding reclaimed wood that becomes useful home furniture and decor, and cast-off windows for his canvases, Mikel Davison believes in using what is available to create beautiful pieces that all have a story.
Okie Eclectic - The Art of Mikel Davison, opens Sept. 15, 2014. A special artist's reception for Mikel will be held 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9. The show will remain open until Jan. 3, 2015. We hope you will Save The Date and attend the artist's reception. Come meet the man behind these unique "eclectic" pieces. We are sure you will find his stories fascinating and you probably will find something that you want to take home with you.
