National Day of the Cowboy

These individuals traveled to the Heritage Center to be honored as a part of our National Day of the American Cowboy Celebration.  It had been nine years since the realistic and entertaining giant screened production was shot.  Each of the individual's participation in "Up the Chisholm Trail Production, helped make it one of the most fascinating western film productions in the world.

Heritage Herd grazing the native grasses on Blue Stem Ridge during their trip to the Chisholm Trail Heritage Center.  Mike Smith, Woody Creek Ranch, owns these beautiful cattle.

Gary Pratt, entertains guests at the Heritage Center.  He shared stories of his rise to national recognition as a part of our honoring the American Cowboy.  He was to appear at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City the following day.
